FAQs about the Virginia Pride Track Club. This information is very helpful for potential athletes and their parents. 

Expenses:

  • The programs registrations fees cover cost associated with county fees, venue rentals and training. Registration fees do not cover uniforms or meet fees. 

Ages:

  • All ages can join, with special consideration for those 6 and under on a case-by-case basis.

Seasons:

  • Cross Country: September - November
  • Off-Season Conditioning: September - November
  • Indoor/Winter Season: November - March
  • Spring/Summer Season: Mid-March - Late July
  • Post Season: July - August

Practices:

  • Not mandatory, but attendance is encouraged. You gent in what you put in. 
  • Practices focus on warm-ups, workouts for different events, and a balance between fun and challenge.

Meets:

  • Held on Saturdays or Sundays.
  • Team calendar distributed upon registration.
  • Refund policy is in place.

Becoming a Coach:

Weather Policy:

  • Practices are postponed in the event of thunder or lightning.
  • Practices may be canceled due to park authorities deeming conditions dangerous.

Other Questions:

  • Parents not required to stay at practice.
  • Attendance not mandatory, but commitment is encouraged.
  • Athletes should wear comfortable workout attire and running shoes.
  • Athletes should bring labeled water bottles to practice.
  • Uniforms can be purchased via the team's uniform store.

Age Group Guidelines:

  • Athletes compete in the age group determined by their age on December 31st of the year.

Events and Races:

  • Coaches have the final say on events.

Coaches Introduction:

  • Coaches are introduced at the first practices/parent meeting.

Spikes for Racing:

  • Spikes are not required but can be worn for better grip.

Ribbon Placement:

  • Ribbons are based on overall placement, not just within individual heats.

Weather Policy:

  • Practices are postponed or canceled based on weather conditions.
  • Families are encouraged to use discretion regarding attendance during adverse weather.

How to Unsubscribe from Sports Engine Emails

Virginia Pride Track Club – Parent Guide

Sports Engine manages all of our team communications. If you’d like to stop receiving emails, you can adjust your notification settings directly in your Sports Engine account.

Step 1: Log Into Sports Engine

  1. Go to www.sportsengine.com

  2. Click Sign In (top right).

  3. Enter the email address you used for Virginia Pride registration.
     

Step 2: Access Your Account Settings

  1. Once logged in, click on your Profile Icon (top right corner).

  2. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
     

Step 3: Manage Notifications

  1. In Settings, click Notifications.

  2. You’ll see a list of your connected teams and organizations (including Virginia Pride).

  3. Toggle Email Notifications OFF for Virginia Pride Track Club.

  4. Step 4: Save & Confirm

  • Your changes are saved automatically.

  • Once toggled off, you will no longer receive Virginia Pride emails through Sports Engine.
